Junta addition tax

#1
Hi

Recently purchased an apartment at a good price and duly paid the required tax. the the Junta came back and said we should have paid tax at a higher valuation

Has or is anyone having a similar issue?

It is not that tax is, if you buy second hand, the tax payable is called transfer tax. It happens that as in Spain there is much fraud this tax lower than they actually are amounts declared, Hacienda usually provide prices for apartments, so that if you say you are lower, they understand that the tax is wrong and make another with greater.

You can always fight it, but you get into a lot of trouble.
